Green Cloud Computing for Sustainable IT Infrastructure

Abstract

Increasing energy consumption in data centers has raised concerns about environmental sustainability and operational costs. This paper investigates green cloud computing techniques aimed at reducing carbon emissions and improving energy efficiency. The proposed approach includes virtualization, dynamic resource allocation, energy-aware scheduling, and renewable energy integration in cloud data centers. Performance evaluation demonstrates significant reductions in power consumption without affecting service quality. The paper also discusses government policies, environmental impacts, and future directions for sustainable cloud infrastructure development. Green cloud computing is identified as a key solution for eco-friendly digital transformation.
