Neurotechnology and Human Augmentation: Ethical and Technological Perspectives
Abstract
Advancements in neurotechnology, including brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) and neural implants, are redefining human capabilities. This paper explores the intersection of neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and bioengineering in enhancing cognitive and motor functions. A review of recent developments in BCIs, such as Elon Musk’s Neuralink and China’s brainwave research initiatives, highlights their applications in medicine, communication, and military strategy. Ethical concerns surrounding privacy, identity, and human enhancement are critically analyzed. The study emphasizes the need for global regulatory frameworks to ensure responsible innovation in neurotechnology.
